The Low Rider® El Diablo is the second entry into the Icons Collection, which was introduced last model year, and like the Electra Glide Revival built before it, it will be limited to 1,500 bikes that are all numbered accordingly.
Low Rider® ST
The 2022 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® El Diablo is a custom edition of the Low Rider® ST, so that’s where we’ll begin in order to appreciate this new model fully. The Low Rider® brand in general has always been about comfortable cruisers that look cool and perform well. Performance isn’t always a focal point with cruisers. But it usually is with the Low Rider® family, and all of these models, including the Low Rider® S, have the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 V-Twin engine. The main difference between the Low Rider® ST and the Lower Rider S is that the ST is set up more for long distances. It has the larger and frame-mounted fairing along with saddlebags. It also has different handlebars for more of a SoCal vibe.
Low Rider® El Diablo
One of the inspirations for the current Low Rider® ST is the FXRT Sport Glide. This a model that became iconic during the 1980s. It’s representative of the West Coast style during that period, and it continues to serve as inspiration for custom cruisers in Stuart Florida and throughout the country. The fairing that is currently on the Low Rider® ST draws directly from the fairing on the legendary Sport Glide. The 2022 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® El Diablo therefore is a celebration of that. The Low Rider® El Diablo is essentially the FXRT Sport Glide reimagined and using the Low Rider® ST as the drawing board.
Milwaukee-Eight® 117 V-Twin
A great reason to test ride the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® El Diablo in Stuart at our location is the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 V-Twin engine, which is the current pinnacle when it comes to Harley-Davidson® air- and oil-cooled powertrains. As the name suggests, the displacement is 117 cubic inches. It delivers 125 foot-pound-force. It features dual counter-balancers that reduce primary vibration and therefore increase rider comfort. It also gives you the option of Screamin’ Eagle® Performance Parts Stage Upgrades for riders who want even more performance.
Custom Paint and Limited Edition
Only 1,500 Low Rider® El Diablo models will ever be made. Once they’re sold, that’s it. Each of them has an engraved badge on the fuel tank that indicates their place in the limited series. The El Diablo design is based one of the iconic paint schemes that was available for the FXRT Sport Glide. It requires three distinct passes to achieve with the final stage involving the special pinstriping and depth of shadow.
Rockford Fosgate Audio
Another way that Harley-Davidson® differentiates the Low Rider® El Diablo is including the Rockford Fosgate premium audio system that is installed in the fairing. This system is an option for the Low Rider® ST but not the Low Rider® S. This system was designed specifically for the fairing found on the Low Rider® ST and Low Rider® El Diablo. It has a 250-watt amplifier, two 5.25-inch woofers and two remote tweeters.
