You should check your engine oil before every ride. It can be checked cold, however if the bike has been sitting, let it run for three to five minutes, then check it.
You should also check it before every ride. Tire pressure varies by model so check your service manual.
Tires must be replaced when they hit under 3 3/2nds, also when you see cracks, dry rot, road debris, metal or any punctures. A tire tread depth gauge is a handy tool to have and can be purchased at your Los Angeles Harley-Davidson® Parts Department.
After your initial 1,000 mile service, your bike should be serviced every 5,000 miles. Los Angeles Harley-Davidson® recommends using SYN3 for engine oil changes for all twin cam models.
Scheduled services are more than just an oil change. You can check your service manual or ask your service writer for details on what is covered during your services.
