2020 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® vs 2021 Suzuki Boulevard C50
Harley-Davidson®'s cruisers aren't ones to mess around with competition. The defeat is usually thorough for the competitor, especially if it's an old nemesis like a Suzuki model. Just because these two brands compete doesn't mean H-D® breaks a sweat while doing so. The 2020 Harley-Davidson® Low rider is loaded up with chrome, paints, and 70s enthusiasm. The 2021 Suzuki Boulevard C50 is a competent urban rider, but it's not in the same sphere as the Low Rider®. Our brief 2020 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® vs 2021 Suzuki Boulevard C50 review is part of our helpful series of reviews to help customers discern between their top options. As a cruiser, the Low Rider® is serving Stuart Port St. Lucie Fort Pierce Vero Beach with much more than the C50.
Comparison
How do these two look side-by-side together? Does the 2021 Suzuki Boulevard C50 even stand a chance?
Design
Harley-Davidson® goes chopped and custom on the Low Rider®, with a powerful set of pipes that are shockingly striking in chrome. 70s tank graphics give you a colorful blue and white Harley-Davidson® artwork that's going to age well. When you go with a retro-look, you can always go back and enjoy the past, even while benefitting from the technology of a Milwaukee-Eight® 107. The Suzuki C50 is more of a modern look. The model's bigger look sometimes comes across as clunky to some clusters, although it does have a nice soft seat and also some chrome. What it's missing is the laid back attitude of a classic H-D® Low Rider® model. The edgy look of H-D® bikes are one of the reason that people go back to them time and time again. Harley-Davidson® crafts motorcycles that have high-performance features that show up right in the design. It's a beautiful thing. Meanwhile, the C50 is husky indeed and does have a nice look to it. The question is: is nice enough for you? Or do you want something epic, something classic, and something timeless? If you prefer timeless, only the H-D® Low Rider® will speak to your riding sensibilities this year. It's as epic as it gets.
Power
Cruisers are supposed to shine when a rider feels like shining. The Low Rider® has much more power to share, with 100 horsepower to share with its lucky riders. The C50 only gets 53 horsepower, something that's going to disappoint many riders this year. Both bikes are competent city explorers and don't struggle on take-off, but only the Low Rider® has the capability to kick things up a notch. It's also serving Stuart Port St. Lucie Fort Pierce Vero Beach with better throttle responsiveness and 119 ft-lb of torque. The C50 only grabs 51 ft-lb of torque. It won't be enough for most people who've shopped from Treasure Coast Harley-Davidson® in the past.
Suspension
Harley-Davidson®'s recipe for a suspension system has no parallel in the industry, but Suzuki is especially far behind the times in terms of what they have to offer. The Low Rider®'s cast wheels are perfectly in-tune with the high performance front suspension system. The racing-cartridge of the model has a unique "weight reduction" technology that goes perfectly with the frame of the Low Rider®. Meanwhile, the Suzuki gets a strong steel frame that's going to stand up over the years, but its actual performance is nowhere near as good as the Low Rider®'s performance. You'll find yourself missing something all throughout life if you opt for the Boulevard C50.
Winner: 2020 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider®
The cruiser bikes from Harley-Davidson® are always something of a legend, but the Low Rider® was one of the best in its model years. It strongly represented a 70s nostalgia design and rocked a chopper stance. H-D® really encouraged their Low Rider® bikers to customize with accessories that meant the most to them. And as the bike is still early in its run, you have the opportunity to own this ever-forward winner from Treasure Coast Harley-Davidson®.
