Tri Glide® Ultra
There are two core trikes in the Harley-Davidson® lineup: Freewheeler and Tri Glide® Ultra. The Freewheeler is essentially the stripped-down cruiser of Harley-Davidson®’s three-wheeled motorcycles and the Tri Glide® Ultra is the loaded touring machine. The Tri Glide® ultra is designed using the same touring chassis that Harley-Davidson® uses it for its Grand American Touring motorcycles but with customizations specifically for the three-wheeled setup. It features a premium, state-of-the-art infotainment system. It includes advanced rider safety enhancements, and it boasts a traditional chrome aesthetic with Tomahawk wheels.
G.I. Enthusiast Collection
The Enthusiast Collection is a special series that Harley-Davidson® releases on an annual basis. Each year, the collection has a unique theme and includes different models, and these special variants are only available for that model year. The 2022 series is called the G.I. Enthusiast Collection. It features a traditional chrome aesthetic with the Mineral Green Denim Deluxe paint scheme. It also has exclusive graphics, and the overall design commemorates the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. The two models selected for 2022 are the Pan America 1250 Special and, of course, the Tri Glide® Ultra. The exclusive graphics for this model include an Army star with an H-D® logo on the fuel tank and a USA logo on the integrated trunk written in a style that was used on U.S. miliary vehicles during World War II.
Ride Characteristics
If you have never experienced a trike before, then we strongly encourage to schedule a test-ride of the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Tri Glide® Ultra at our location. Three-wheeled motorcycles are designed to provide comfort and convenience that you cannot get from a traditional motorcycle, and the Tri Glide® Ultra in particular has enhancements to make it comfortable and convenient when you chew up many miles over a long period of time. This includes trike-specific enhancements to the suspension. Other notable ride characteristics include upright rider positioning, a fork-mounted fairing, a windscreen, a passenger seat, a passenger backrest, floorboards, a Tour-Pak and an integrated trunk.
Performance
Like the standard 2022 Harley-Davidson® Tri Glide® Ultra, the special edition has the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engine. This engine provides 100 horsepower and 121 pound-feet of torque. The Tri Glide® Ultra has a six-speed transmission, electronic fuel injection and a 2-1-2 dual exhaust with tapered mufflers. The chassis features a 49mm dual bending valve front fork and a hand-adjustable rear suspension.
This Is the Right Bike For
The Tri Glide® Ultra is an excellent option for any touring enthusiast who wants the most comfortable and convenient riding experience. The Tri Glide® Ultra has a frame-mounted fairing. If you are unsure whether you want a trike or a traditional tourer, we recommend a test ride of the Road Glide Special. That tourer also has the sharknose fairing and should provide an excellent point of comparison. As for this special edition, it’s a great choice for anyone who wants a factory custom aesthetic with a military theme and anyone who likes the idea of owning a bike that will be hard to find this time next year.
Making It Yours
While this is a factory custom edition, there is still room for customization, and Harley-Davidson® provides excellent support for all Tri Glide® Ultra models through its catalog. Harley-Davidson® offers various collections, including the ’66 Collection, Screamin’ Eagle and the Empire series. Popular personalization accessories include heated and standard hand grips, shifter pegs, mirrors, timer covers, windshields, brake pedal pads, axle nut covers, mid-frame air deflectors and much more!
